ze big bang

The problem of describing surfaces when only looking at the surface from one particular "zoom" level could be analguous to my pet problem of describing the laws of the universe for a differing amount of "observers". How do the laws of the universe look when there is but one piece of matter, and nothing to observe it? How can the laws of relativity arise from such an arrangement, an arrangement analguous to big band theory?
